Knott, Bice Stop Illegal Entry Act Passes Out of Committee
May 23, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Brad Knott (NC-13) released the following statement regarding the passage of his bill with Rep. Stephanie Bice (OK-05) out of committee. The Stop Illegal Entry Act imposes strict penalties against criminal illegal immigrants.
“The legislation that I, along with Congresswoman Bice and Senator Cruz, put forth draws a hard line. We will no longer tolerate illegal immigrants who disregard our laws and are involved in never-ending crime and to enrich themselves while harming the American people,” Rep. Knott said. “With the tools this bill will make available, investigators and prosecutors will be better able to dismantle organized crime rings across the country –AND– most importantly, employ a deterrent to those hoping to illegally re-enter the US and continue to engage in crime.”
“We must take a firm stance against individuals who continue to violate our laws and endanger the safety of the American people. The previous Administration's disastrous handling of border enforcement has made our country less safe and our streets more dangerous,” Rep. Bice said. “By imposing serious penalties on violent felons who repeatedly re-enter the country after deportation, we can deter the cycle of illegal entry, uphold the rule of law, and send a clear message that actions have consequences.”
Congressman Knott also delivered remarks opening discussion on the bill.
