Knott's News: October Update
Note from Brad:
Welcome back to my monthly newsletter. The Democrat Shutdown is now the longest in United States history, and I know many of you share my frustration. In September, House Republicans and some Democrats passed a clean continuing resolution that would give us time to negotiate and carry out the proper appropriations process.
Desperate for clout, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his House counterpart, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, directed Democrats to vote against the measure and instead demand a radical woke wish list.
Their counter proposal, which looks more like ransom demands than actual policy, includes keeping at least 1.4 million illegal immigrants on taxpayer-funded health care, withholding $50 billion from rural hospitals, and sending millions of dollars overseas to fund “LGBTQIA+” propaganda. All told, their proposal would add an additional $1.5 trillion to our debt. As a steward for your tax dollars, I refuse even to consider such waste.
Sen. Schumer, who said each day “gets better” for Democrats, is looking to inflict maximum pain on Americans. Senate Democrats blocked a standalone bill that would have at least paid federal workers including critical frontline law enforcement personnel as they continue to confront very real and present dangers threatening our society. This shameful action is consistent with Democrat’s anti-law enforcement agenda that puts Americans in harm’s way.
I recently led 10 House Republican colleagues in demanding Sen. Schumer reverse course and agree to reopen the government. We must ensure law enforcement personnel have the support they need as they continue their mission.
While some agencies legally cannot provide services, my office is open, working, and ready to help constituents however possible. If you have any questions or think we can help through casework, please reach out.
Thank you for your support as we continue this important mission. God bless you and God bless the United States of America.
Sincerely,

President Trump Voices Support for Brad’s Bill
In a recent speech to Senate Republicans at the White House Rose Garden, President Donald Trump voiced his support for the Stop Illegal Entry Act, which Brad introduced earlier this year with Representatives Stephanie Bice.
President Trump: " When it gets up to the Senate, I hope you guys can pass it. And basically, very simply, it says that if you're an illegal alien and you come in and you get thrown out, if you come back and get caught, you have to spend 10 years in jail. Very simple. Very simple. If they would've had that, Kate Steinle would be alive today."
Rep. Knott: "I am thrilled to have the support of President Trump for the Stop Illegal Entry Act. He is correct, this bill remedies the problem in illegal immigration: repeat offenders who harm Americans. Through strengthening penalties and enabling efficient prosecutions, this bill will finally bring effective deterrence and appropriate punishment to this dangerous class of illegal alien criminals. I urge my Senate colleagues to pass this critical legislation. It is the missing piece in our fight against illegal immigration."
