Note from Brad:

Just three months into the 119th Congress and together with President Trump, Republicans in Congress have tackled many of the harms brought about by the previous administration.

While we are not afraid to differ with any person or group when it is required, credit must be given whenever it is warranted. Lately, the “Trump Effect” is real. There are many examples of confidence growing quickly as this America First administration prioritizes growth in a manner that benefits all people and communities.

TCJA IMPACT NC13

As an example, in March I visited Teknion’s furniture manufacturing facility in Clayton. This Canadian company is investing millions of dollars in the U.S. workforce and infrastructure, employing hundreds of North Carolinians right in the Clayton area of our district. Nearby in Morrisville the French conglomerate Schneider Electric just announced a $700 billion expansion in the area. These are two of many positive instances in our District, State and around the Country.

In terms of securing the border and removing dangerous illegal immigrants – our work has been swift, and effective. We are prioritizing work with the White House to apprehend the most dangerous criminals, who remain at large, and ensure their expedited removal.

Compared to the Biden-Harris administration’s last year in office, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests have increased by more than 600% - including the arrest of a Haitian national charged with three murders in North Carolina.

Illegal immigrants are getting the message as encounters at ports of entry along the Southwest border dropped 93% last month compared to the year prior.

There is still much work to do, including reauthorizing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to revitalize the economy and spare families and small businesses unfair and drastic tax increases.

If the TCJA expires at the end of this year, 119,100 families in our district will see their Child Tax Credit cut in half, 80,510 of our small businesses would face a new 43.4% tax rate, 87% of you would lose half of your guaranteed tax deduction and 18,314 family farms in NC-13 would suffer a slashed Death Tax exemption.

I’m working hard with my colleagues in Congress to ensure this doesn’t happen and TCJA2 is quickly signed into law.

For a more comprehensive look at my work throughout March, check out the snapshots below.

As always, it is a profound honor to represent and serve you in Congress. Thank you for your support as we work towards a future with more liberty, security and prosperity for all Americans.

Sincerely,

Hudson, Knott 2A Rights Legislation Passes Out of Committee

On Tuesday, March 25, the House Judiciary Committee advanced legislation from Congressman Richard Hudson to protect your Second Amendment Rights across the country.

Brad co-sponsored the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act authored by Rep. Hudson which ensures law-abiding gun owners retain their ability to carry firearms across state lines, free from infringement and overreach by various state governments.

Brad Honors Youngsville on House Floor

On March 11, Brad commemorated the 150th anniversary of Youngsville, North Carolina’s incorporation.

"Today, Youngsville is a vibrant, proudly patriotic community with robust growth across the board. And yet somehow, despite this growth, Youngsville has retained its character and heart while reimagining its downtown to meet the demands of an active community," Brad said. "It is no wonder that young families from across North Carolina and the region have flocked to this area. As its residents know, Youngsville is a truly special place and a treasure for the great state of North Carolina.”
