Knott's News: June Update

July 14, 2025
Blog Post

Note from Brad:

June reminded us that Washington doesn’t make anything easy — but that won’t stop us from getting the best deal for the American people. From marathon hearings to speaking on the House floor at 4 a.m., I am proud to have worked with President Trump and my colleagues in the House to deliver on promises to the American people.

No piece of legislation has been more debated this Congress than President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) — and rightfully so. All bills, especially those as impactful as OBBB, deserve scrutiny to ensure we as representatives of the people get the best deal possible on their behalf.

President Trump’s leadership has been clear and direct. He successfully rallied both the House and Senate to codify executive actions, strengthen border security, bolster our energy supply, and extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, preventing a $4.5 trillion tax hike from wrongfully punishing American families, businesses, and farms. We also made historic changes to the tax code to benefit hardworking Americans including no tax on tips, social security, or overtime wages.

June was also a reminder that enacting change in Washington will always encounter serious resistance, especially from those benefiting from the status quo, and we must not let up if we are to create a prosperous state and nation for all. I want to thank you, my constituents, for your support and feedback leading up this historic legislative achievement.

OBBB Benefits

OBBB wasn’t all we accomplished over the past few weeks. Last month, I introduced the Tren de Aragua Border Security Threat Assessment Act directing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to conduct a study examining Tren de Aragua’s dangerous and detrimental impact on our communities. This heinous international gang of terrorists exploited lax border security policies over the past four years and continues to leverage sanctuary city and state policies to grow its influence.

However, just reporting on the threat isn’t enough. My bill also directs DHS to carry out a strategic plan based on the findings to eliminate Tren de Aragua’s (TdA) presence in our country.

This issue hits close to home for all of us. Earlier this year, ICE arrested a TdA gang member in Raleigh who was a suspect in a mass shooting and had federal charges against him. I am committed to fighting back and restoring safety to our communities.

It remains a profound honor to serve you in Congress. If my staff or I can assist you with any federal agencies, I encourage you to give us a call or visit my district office at 12450 Cleveland Road, Suite 203, in Garner. I’d also love to see you in DC, and my staff holds mobile office hours around the district on a regular basis, so check out when they will be closest to you next.

God bless you and God bless the United States of America.

Sincerely,

President Trump’s One Big Beautiful LAW

It also codified 28 of President Trump’s executive actions and delivered the largest ever tax DECREASE by making tips, social security, and overtime tax-free.

Just before 5 a.m. on July 3, Brad spoke on the House floor to highlight the importance of protecting our farmers, small businesses, and families in North Carolina and across the country.

Brad Introduces Bill Targeting Tren de Aragua

Brad introduced the Tren de Aragua Border Security Threat Assessment Act directing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to assess potential threats related to the international terrorist gang.
